CCW DOJ Certified Instructor Qualification Overview

This qualification satisfies the shooting requirement (Part C of the BOF 1034 application) for individuals applying for or renewing a California Department of Justice CCW Instructor License, also known as a CCW DOJ Certified Instructor.

Qualification Frequency

  • Instructors must qualify every 4 years.

  • Qualifications must be completed within 6 months prior to submitting your BOF 1034 application.

Certification

Upon successful completion:

  • The instructor will complete and sign Part C of your DOJ BOF Form 1034.

  • The instructor will provide a copy of their certifications to submit with your application.

What to Bring

  • State-issued driver license or ID

  • Your completed (except Part C) BOF Form 1034

  • Eye and ear protection

  • Firearm with at least 2 magazines or speed loaders

  • Serviceable holster (concealed or exposed)

  • Magazine or speed loader pouch

  • 24 rounds of ammunition
